I am using a $30 go-phone Lumia 635. It does some of what I want it to, but its barely passable. My Lumia 920 kicked ass. Well, I have the ability to acquire a Galaxy S5 for free. But it’s Sprint and I’m ATT. Kick ass!!! Except Sprint will not unlock the S5 for domestic use. International unlock only for the S5.

Find a 920 on CL, they should be crazy cheap by now.
Sprint is required to allow unlocks now. The FCC said they have to. I would report them for being assholes about it.
If the S5 doesn’t have all the antenna it needs, you won’t be able to use it on ATT anyway.

Tell them you want it in writing so that you can attach it to your FCC complaint. See how quickly they change their tune, if not move to T-MO. Just as cheap and compatible with ATT so no unlock needed.

I’ll have find out what my S5 buyout is from ATT. You could just pay that and take my phone.

The networks are not compatible. Sprint and ATT use different band classes for LTE and different technologies for their fall back. ATT uses GSM and Sprint uses CDMA.

Try Ting? They allow for CDMA and GSM (on the same phone if you want) so you should be able to use the phone either way, plus it’s cheap.
